Our first episode of 2016 began with a small tribute to our fallen radio brother Zin<\/strong><\/a>, who was killed in a car accident in Denver the day before this episode aired.<\/p>\n

We heard about his passing only a few hours earlier, and decided to say a few words and play some of his music to start off the show to pay our respects. Zin, founder of All Real Radio<\/a> and a veteran of Houston’s KPFT Pacifica Radio<\/a>, was a beloved and key member of the Houston scene, where Impulse Travels has its roots. He was also an MC, poet, activist, avid supporter of artists of all kinds, and an encouraging friend whose light reached well beyond the cities of Houston and Denver<\/a>, where he split his time. We will miss you forever, Zin, but your light shines eternal<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The show also features the return of empanadamn<\/strong><\/a>, who took over the controls for a bit to play his first themed set of the new year paying homage to New York’s first truly brick night of this Winter season. (It was about 15 degrees outside while we aired this show).<\/p>\n
