Sound Liberation Front<\/a> + The BRMG<\/a> + buhbOmp<\/a> presents:<\/p>\n [[ AFRO-DUB SESSIONS<\/b> ]] SATURDAY | 27 NOV 2010<\/b> @ Rose Live Music<\/a> maps: google<\/a> | hopstop<\/a> | yahoo<\/a><\/p>\n \/\/\/ This month, AFRO-DUB SESSIONS<\/b> welcomes SAL P<\/b> from the legendary early 80\u2019s \u201cNo Wave\u201d band LIQUID LIQUID<\/b> for a featured DJ set. We’ll also have two live performances by SUPER HI-FI<\/b> and sets by SLF resident DJs LINH<\/b> and LIL TIGER<\/b>. The party is FREE<\/b> and starts at 10pm.<\/p>\n About the artists:<\/p>\n Best known as the lead singer and percussionist of the highly influential New York group LIQUID LIQUID<\/b>, SAL P<\/b> has been active in the NYC music scene for three decades. Liquid Liquid\u2019s three groundbreaking EP\u2019s from 1981-84 on 99 Records forged a template of minimalist funk, dub and world music mixed with punk energy that has been followed by countless bands. Famously, their song \u201cCavern\u201d was used as the basis for Melle Mel and Grandmaster Flash\u2019s hit \u201cWhite Lines\u201d in 1983. Liquid Liquid broke up in 1984 but reformed in 2008 and continues to perform.
