Sound Liberation Front<\/a> + The BRMG<\/a> + buhbOmp<\/a> presents:<\/p>\n [[ AFRO-DUB SESSIONS<\/b> ]] SATURDAY | 24 APR 2010 @ Rose Live Music<\/a> maps: google<\/a> | hopstop<\/a> | yahoo<\/a><\/p>\n \/\/\/ This month at AFRO-DUB SESSIONS<\/b> we’re proud to present featured guest DJ BRIAN SHIMKOVITZ<\/b> of AWESOME TAPES FROM AFRICA<\/b>.<\/p>\n After a stint in Ghana researching Hip-Hop music, Brian has accumulated thousands of cassette tapes of rare African music from Zimbabwe to Ethiopia to Senegal. He has been sharing his bounty through his popular blog and his DJ mixes, both of which have been featured in Fader<\/i>, XLR8R<\/i>, The Wire<\/i>, The Guardian<\/i>, and The Village Voice<\/i>.<\/p>\n In keeping with the African spirit of the night, DJ AFRO-MARC<\/b> of the acclaimed AFROBEAT BLOG<\/b> will also stop by to play some choice Afrobeat and global music cuts from his collection. <\/p>\n As usual, the night features two performances by SUPER HI-FI<\/b>, the resident Afro-Dub band which has been packing the house with their creative melding of Afrobeat and Dub.<\/p>\n SLF resident DJ’s LINH<\/b>, Q-MASTAH<\/b> and LIL TIGER<\/b> will keep the party popping on the decks.
