This 2 hr special was official. It totally blew my mind to hear <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.soulstrut.com\/ubbthreads\/images\/graemlins\/raerface.gif\" ><em>laaar gloooves<\/em><\/a> like <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=H2FNolvbuYs\" >Ten\u00f3rio Jr.<\/a> on a commercial station. My mind was blown at how thorough the research was, props to <strong>Simon Rentner<\/strong> for putting in the work. Hopefully the older white folk demographic tuning in learned more about the music and decided to purchase these obscure works.<\/p>\n<p>The piece featured interviews with folks like <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Joyce_(singer)\" >Joyce<\/a>, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Carlos_Lyra\" >Carlos Lyra<\/a>, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cesarcamargomariano.com\/\" >Cesar Camargo Mariano<\/a> (Sambalan\u00e7o Trio, Som Tres, CIA) and featured quite a few rare live recordings from the bottles alley era.
